You could do more at work so that your director or Chair thinks you are doing enough.

I get it. I felt like this, too!

I spent years in academic medicine trying to be the best doctor I could be while climbing the ranks to become a professor and raising two kids along with my husband, who also had his own big job. Although I often felt purposeful and got a high when I threaded the needle and did all the things - submitted the grant on time, dealt with a difficult patient, and made it on time to soccer practice pick-up - most of the time, I felt drained and exhausted. 
It wasn’t until I was ready to quit and walk away from it that I got support through coaching and realized how much my own behavior contributed to my being overwhelmed. My perfectionism and need for external validation kept me stuck doing what I thought I “should” rather than what I wanted to do. My sense of over-responsibility kept me trying to control things that were totally out of my control. 

Through my journey, I’ve realized I don’t have to do it that way anymore; I can choose my path, do things differently, and succeed while thriving.  I learned to thrive by honoring my nervous system and the rhythms of life, listening to my emotions and the guidance they were there to give me, making decisions based on my own internal compass and knowing, having compassion for myself, and taking off the protective armor to let myself live openheartedly.

I want you to thrive, too. It’s time, and it’s more than possible.

Project THRIVE

A 12-week group program for high-achieving women in healthcare wanting more out of work and life.

Introducing

In 12 weeks, you will:

Learn how to restore your nervous system and take it out of sympathetic overdrive by disconnecting from urgency and learning to listen to your body so that you can feel well.

Discover your inner wisdom and learn to trust it so that you can more easily and confidently make decisions that work for you, not everyone else.

Recognize and manage fear so that you can take bold, aligned action without second-guessing or self-sabotaging.

Build support networks, seeing them as part of being human and not a failure, so that you are no longer exhausted by the weight of the world.

Begin to set your own vision for your life and move toward it with ease so that you can tackle those big projects you yearn to do.

The Journey

Through your work in Project THRIVE, you’ll move from overwhelmed to thriving by learning to restore, reconnect, and reclaim. The eight modules within these three pillars teach key principles for thriving by living confidently with an open heart and doing what you love with the people you care about.

VIDEO LEARNING MODULES

Module 1

Calm

In this module, you’ll learn to create calm and harness mindfulness to bring awareness to our thoughts and feelings. You’ll create a morning routine that starts your day grounded and supported.

Mdule 2

Compassion

In this module, you’ll learn to use compassion in your everyday life to allow our feelings and a three step strategy for managing your inner critic.

In this module, you’ll learn the value of curiosity as a mindset that supports being present, and using curiosity to investigate emotions and the thoughts that cause them using a four-step framework and to design your life and find your purpose.

In this module, you’ll learn to create an authentic connection with yourself and others, to connect to a higher power to trust that life is happening for you, and to set boundaries.

In this module, you’ll learn to use creativity and play to access the present moment and your intuition.

In this module, you’ll learn to cultivate acceptance and the capacity to live in the present moment while accessing our vision for the future, and it includes a guided visualization to meet your future wise self.

In this module, you’ll learn to recognize and manage fear that keeps us stuck. You’ll identify your fear signature and how to constructively move past fear.

In this module, you’ll learn to use acceptance and trust to access confidence and how to identify and manage imposter syndrome.

As a physician, I bring years of experience in academic medicine and as a leader working in complex organizations. I’ve traveled the road, hit the potholes, gotten lost in the detours, and run straight into the roadblocks. 

As your coach, I’m here to use my Executive and Life Coaching training to support you in finding your own path to successfully navigate your biggest obstacles.

  • Although the underlying curriculum and goals are similar, the structure of each program significantly differs, leading to a different experience. 

    A group program uniquely offers the opportunity to:

    • Connect with others who share your struggles.

    • Build a community of support and celebration.

    • Learn from other women. Even if you are not coached directly in a group session, hearing another woman’s concerns and coaching can provide significant insight and open new perspectives. 

    1:1 coaching provides a customized experience

    • You set the session agendas

    • You can choose from a selection of meeting times 

  • Calls will include time to celebrate the small wins that happen as you make changes in your life, time to ask questions about any of the material from that week or prior weeks, and time for coaching on any issues that are coming up for you and for which you’d like support.
